Incgnto are excited to introduce Dress Thèque, who will join the growing incgnto team of artists alongside Kučka and Nick Hill.
Today, NOWNESS have premiered their song ‘Landslide’, the first taste of their music which they've described as "High-stakes psychedelia from the Sydney-based four-piece ".
Dress Thèque are Julian Wilkinson, Mikey Thurbin, Billy Wright and Daniel Nutton, currently based in Sydney. Their mutual love for artists like Joy Division, Radiohead and Caribou were the roots of how this band began. Taking these artists on board as a strong influence for their writing, the four piece began numerous demos that built to somewhat a large amount of song sketches. What they’ve ended up with are master pieces layered with indie guitar riffs, electronic soundscapes and an alluring gorgeous vocals.
"'Landslide’ had been underway for some time, naturally becoming an easy choice to focus on for our first release. It’s a song that represents the different types of music we create " says Julian. "When establishing what the sound of Dress Thèque would be, we wanted to create music that was a combination of Pink Floyd & New Order. Songs that mimicked the vocal melodies and ambience of ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ backed by house beats familiar to The Haçienda".
We're incredibly thrilled to be working with Dress Thèque and over the next few weeks, we will have even more exciting news to announce.
