Introducing incgnto's new signing, Dress Thèque

Incgnto are excited to introduce Dress Thèque, who will join the growing incgnto team of artists alongside Kučka and Nick Hill.
Today, NOWNESS have premiered their song ‘Landslide’, the first taste of their music which they've described as "High-stakes psychedelia from the Sydney-based four-piece ".

Dress Thèque are Julian Wilkinson, Mikey Thurbin, Billy Wright and Daniel Nutton, currently based in Sydney. Their mutual love for artists like Joy Division, Radiohead and Caribou were the roots of how this band began. Taking these artists on board as a strong influence for their writing, the four piece began numerous demos that built to somewhat a large amount of song sketches. What they’ve ended up with are master pieces layered with indie guitar riffs, electronic soundscapes and an alluring gorgeous vocals.

"'Landslide’ had been underway for some time, naturally becoming an easy choice to focus on for our first release. It’s a song that represents the different types of music we create " says Julian. "When establishing what the sound of Dress Thèque would be, we wanted to create music that was a combination of Pink Floyd & New Order. Songs that mimicked the vocal melodies and ambience of ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ backed by house beats familiar to The Haçienda".

We're incredibly thrilled to be working with Dress Thèque and over the next few weeks, we will have even more exciting news to announce.

Incgnto, a management company focused on developing and promoting left-field acts with global creative ambitions, has launched this week. The company promises to be a ‘cocoon for intriguing artists’, focusing on more challenging sounds.

Incgnto is the brainchild of Eva Trifonas, who has spent the last three years as Digital Media Manager at Inertia, working on ground-breaking artists such as Aphex Twin, Baauer, Caribou, Japanese Wallpaper, Kelela and many more. In this capacity, she managed the company’s radio relationships (including key stakeholder triple j) and was responsible for their digital marketing & social media strategies for all artists and the Inertia brand. Prior to this role, Eva spent three years at Ministry of Sound Australia as part of the marketing team.

The company launches its roster with KUCKA, arguably one of the most talked-about unsigned voices in Australian electronic music. A triple-threat vocalist, producer and instrumentalist, KUČKA’s first single, ‘Divinity’, reached #2 on the US Billboard Twitter Emerging Artist charts and she’s since collaborated with everyone from A$AP RockyCosmo’s MidnightDro Carey to Flume - with whom she performed at Coachella and penned two songs for his latest record, Skin.

KUCKA has racked up plenty of plaudits of her own, from Stoney Roads Breakthrough Producer of the Year in 2015 to four WAMI awards including the coveted Song of the Year. KUCKA was recently invited to speak at a Women In Electronic Music panel as part of Vivid and ontop of that, debuted her #Portals show also at Vivid, a audiovisual collaboration with 3D electronic artist Rachael Archibald.

Says KUCKA: “'I'm very excited to be working with Eva, she is super switched on and creative. incgnto's vision is perfectly in tune with my music so I feel it will be the right match to take me to the next level in my career.
Eva adds “I'm extremely excited to launching my own company with such an incredibly hard working and talented artist. I truly believe in KUCKA as an artist and a human, she has a very bright career ahead and perfectly fits in with the ethos of what I'm creating at incgnto ”

Over the next few weeks there will be more exciting KUCKA announcements being made.
